Cotton Incorporated is a non-profit organization funded by cotton growers in the United States through per-bale assessments on producers and importers levied by the Cotton Board, which reports to the United States Department of Agriculture.

The Boll Weevil Eradication Program has helped thousands of U.S. cotton growers become more competitive by reducing their input costs, and has helped the environment.

USDA-APHIS

APHIS’ Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) program safeguards U.S. agriculture and natural resources against the entry, establishment, and spread of economically and environmentally significant pests, and facilitates the safe trade of agricultural products.

Our eradication program operates by the mapping, detection, and control of the boll weevil. Since enacting this program, we’ve now successfully decreased the amount of boll weevils in our state and continue our operations of preventing their return and protecting our growers.
